Hi! I’m Caryse! I joined the club in 2023, and have absolutely loved getting outdoors and hanging out with some truly incredible people. I’m an avid climber and have been addicted for about 4 years now. I also study medicine and spend most days in the hospital, so I try to take every chance I get to get into nature. This year, I’m super excited to get outdoors, get moving, and hang out with more awesome people - so I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!

Hi, I'm Igor! I was blown away by Australian nature when I just moved here two years ago. Having joined to explore more hikes around, I was introduced to climbing and rogaining by the amazing people of the club, cementing my love for the outdoors and UQMC. In the rare moments when I'm not doing my PhD, training or enjoying the mountains, I also like gigs, cooking and obscure films. So stoked for the coming year!

​​Hey, I first started climbing back with the club in my first year at UQ, and fully got hooked by the end of the year. From then on I have discovered how good of a procrastination tool climbing is. Knowing full well that one important assignment due this week can wait while there are crags to be sent and rocks to be touched. For some reason the club decided to trust me with the money…. So I guess drinks are on me!

Hello! My name is Sofia and I am the secretary for 2024. I am doing my Honours in marine biology this year, so am always keen for a chat about anything under the water! Also feel free to ask me about anything club-related, including memberships and constitution-related questions. You can (almost) always find me at KP on Tuesdays and Thursdays so please come and say hi if you see me. I’m stoked to get to know you all this year and explore some amazing places!

Howdy, I'm Josh. I froth all things climbing, and am happy to talk your ear off about everything from training, gear, local crags, climbing news and injury prevention (don't take my advice on the last point, I'm yet to figure out what a "rest day" is). You'll likely find me at most KP nights, working a proj and/or spouting wisdom from the greatest climbing video ever.  Keen to meet you all and share the stoke!

Hi. I’m Sam. As with most people who study and haven’t quite subscribed to the dirtbag mentality towards employment, I climb predominantly on plastic. However rocks, trees and waves are my real calling. So come along with me this year to enjoy the less depressing, somewhat easier and far more radical climbing genre that is single pitch sport, amongst other outdoor shenanigans.

I am Maddy- short for MAD keen about climbing and hiking. I’m have recently graduated from UQ, into full-time bumming. Find me at KP to chat about outdoor adventures. Get stoked for Rogaines, bike trips, and multi-day hikes this year! 

Hi my name is Loic! I’ve managed to trap myself at uni for five years now with still two to go and my plans for different adventures keep growing along the way. So I plan to stay fit this year with some awesome hikes and trail runs! And hopefully even stay sane until I graduate by getting to know some cool people along the way! When I’m not hiking I’m usually studying or playing Ultimate Disc. Keen to explore some great trails with you all!!

Hi! I'm Ruby, and I've been in the club since the dark ages of COVID (2020). I work in a high school, but love to escape the maths classroom on weekends and go hiking, rogaining, canyoning, climbing... anything! When I'm not outside I love watching F1, listening to some Eurovision music or doing a jigsaw. Cannot wait to meet you all this year, and get some more money and gear for the club!

Hey, I’m Adriel! I joined the club last year because I loved indoor climbing and wanted to try it outdoors, and now I'm addicted. I like plants and love music and am studying agricultural science. I’ll be around KP nights and the climbing trips so come say hi.

Hello, I’m Lachie! I’ve been in the club since September 2021. I’m a super keen canyoner and general outdoors lover and excited to improve my climbing skills with the club. I enjoy hikes with my dog Tukka, who shows up to KP occasionally, so keep an eye out. I studied physics and engineering at UNSW and am always desperate to supplement that with sunshine and rock. Super excited to meet everyone this year and have a great time!

Hi everyone, my name is Saebyul, but please feel free to call me Christine :) . I have been with the club from the end of 2022, and have been climbing a little over two years now. I'm very much passionate about climbing, and I love to go outdoors as much as I can. I'm currently studying Law, but it seems like I prioritise my climbing over studying! I can't wait to meet you all and make a lot of great memories!

Hey, I'm Daniel. I've been climbing for about a year and am absolutely loving it! I'm currently studying Mechanical Engineering at UQ, but I tend to spend more time skateboarding than actually studying. I skate everywhere and you'll never see me at KP without my board (yes, I can kickflip). I also work on my car, which means it spends most of its time on jackstands instead of driving. I'll be helping to run events throughout the year so keep an eye out for me, see you around :)
